Increase Anxiety Awareness and Symptom Understanding
- Client will identify at least 3 common anxiety triggers and describe their associated thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, or behaviors within 90 days.
- Client will identify at least 3 patterns that contribute to increases in anxiety and discuss their impact on daily functioning during therapy sessions.
- Client will track anxiety symptoms, triggers, and responses at least 2 times per week for 4 consecutive weeks.
- Client will demonstrate increased understanding of anxiety symptoms as evidenced by improved GAD-7 scores from baseline to reassessment.
Improve Emotional Regulation and Anxiety Management
- Client will identify and practice at least 3 adaptive coping strategies for managing anxiety within 90 days.
- Client will demonstrate use of at least 2 anxiety-management strategies during periods of increased distress in 4 out of 5 reported opportunities.
- Client will identify early signs of escalating anxiety and implement an appropriate regulation strategy in at least 3 situations per week.
- Client will demonstrate a reduction in self-reported anxiety by at least 2 points on a 0–10 SUDS scale during identified anxiety-provoking situations.
Reduce Avoidance and Increase Tolerance of Anxiety
- Client will identify at least 3 avoidance, reassurance-seeking, or safety behaviors that contribute to maintaining anxiety within 90 days.
- Client will gradually engage in at least 2 previously avoided situations or activities per week using appropriate coping strategies.
- Client will practice remaining in anxiety-provoking situations until distress decreases or becomes more manageable in at least 3 identified situations per week.
- Client will demonstrate a reduction in anxiety severity as evidenced by decreased GAD-7 scores from baseline to reassessment.
Improve Cognitive Flexibility and Reduce Anxiety-Driven Thinking
- Client will identify at least 3 recurring anxious or catastrophic thought patterns and develop more balanced alternatives within 90 days.
- Client will practice challenging anxiety-driven thoughts using cognitive restructuring strategies at least 2 times per week for 4 consecutive weeks.
- Client will identify evidence for and against at least 3 anxiety-related predictions and develop alternative perspectives within 90 days.
- Client will demonstrate improved ability to tolerate uncertainty by identifying and practicing at least 2 strategies for responding to uncertain situations without excessive reassurance-seeking.
Increase Confidence and Healthy Engagement in Daily Life
- Client will identify at least 3 meaningful activities, responsibilities, or relationships that have been limited by anxiety within 90 days.
- Client will engage in at least 2 meaningful or previously avoided activities per week for 4 consecutive weeks.
- Client will report an increase in confidence managing anxiety by at least 2 points on a 0–10 self-rating scale within 90 days.
- Client will demonstrate improved overall anxiety-related functioning as evidenced by a reduction in GAD-7 scores from baseline to reassessment.
