- Patient will practice initiating and maintaining conversations, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice reciprocal communication by appropriately balancing speaking and listening, as measured by therapist observation over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice interpreting indirect communication and ambiguous language, as measured by structured clinical exercises over the next 90 days.
Sensory Processing and Overload
- Patient will identify at least 3 personal sensory triggers, as measured by a sensory tracking log over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice at least 3 strategies for managing sensory overload, as measured by frequency of strategy use over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice communicating sensory needs to appropriate support persons, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice recognizing early signs of sensory overload, as measured by therapist observation over the next 90 days.
Emotional Regulation and Distress
- Patient will identify at least 3 personal triggers associated with emotional escalation, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice at least 3 coping strategies for managing emotional distress, as measured by frequency of skill use over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice identifying emotions and communicating emotional needs, as measured by therapist observation over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice strategies for returning to baseline following periods of intense distress, as measured by duration of emotional episodes over the next 90 days.
Transitions, Flexibility, and Change
- Patient will identify at least 3 situations that commonly contribute to distress around transitions or change, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice at least 3 strategies for managing unexpected changes, as measured by frequency of strategy use over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice identifying alternative responses when routines or plans change, as measured by therapist observation over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice transitioning between preferred and non-preferred activities, as measured by caregiver report over the next 90 days.
Executive Functioning and Adaptive Skills
- Patient will identify at least 3 executive functioning challenges that interfere with daily responsibilities, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice breaking larger responsibilities into manageable steps, as measured by therapist observation over the next 90 days.
- Patient will use at least 2 organizational strategies to support task completion, as measured by frequency of strategy use over the next 90 days.
- Patient will increase independence with selected activities of daily living, as measured by reduction in caregiver prompting over the next 90 days.
Masking, Camouflaging, and Burnout
- Patient will identify at least 3 situations in which masking or camouflaging occurs, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will identify at least 3 signs of autistic burnout, as measured by a personal burnout tracking log over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice at least 2 strategies for reducing unnecessary masking, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will develop a personalized plan for responding to early signs of burnout, as measured by completion of the plan over the next 90 days.
School and Academic Functioning
- Patient will identify at least 3 school-based factors that interfere with academic functioning, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will use organizational strategies to improve assignment completion, as measured by assignment completion over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice communicating academic or sensory support needs, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice coping strategies for managing challenging school environments, as measured by frequency of strategy use over the next 90 days.
Occupational Functioning
- Patient will identify at least 3 workplace situations that contribute to occupational stress, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice requesting clarification when workplace expectations are unclear, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will use organizational strategies to manage workplace responsibilities, as measured by task completion over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice strategies for managing workplace stress, as measured by weekly stress ratings over the next 90 days.
Family and Caregiver Concerns
- Patient and/or caregivers will identify at least 3 common triggers associated with family conflict or distress, as measured by caregiver report over the next 90 days.
- Patient and caregivers will practice at least 2 communication strategies to reduce interpersonal conflict, as measured by therapist observation over the next 90 days.
- Caregivers will practice at least 3 strategies for responding to emotional or sensory overwhelm, as measured by caregiver self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice increasing independence with appropriate daily responsibilities, as measured by reduction in caregiver prompting over the next 90 days.
Identity and Self-Understanding
- Patient will identify at least 3 personal strengths or areas of competence, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will identify personal support needs and develop language for communicating those needs, as measured by therapist observation over the next 90 days.
- Patient will explore thoughts and emotions related to an Autism diagnosis, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice communicating accommodation needs in appropriate settings, as measured by frequency of self-advocacy attempts over the next 90 days.
Co-Occurring Mental Health Concerns
- Patient will identify at least 3 triggers associated with co-occurring mental health symptoms, as measured by symptom tracking over the next 90 days.
- Patient will practice at least 3 coping strategies for managing co-occurring mental health symptoms, as measured by frequency of skill use over the next 90 days.
- Patient will monitor clinically relevant symptoms using an appropriate standardized measure, as measured by change in assessment scores over the next 90 days.
- Patient will identify at least 3 protective factors that support emotional well-being, as measured by patient self report over the next 90 days.
