- Patient will identify at least 3 ways the loss has affected daily functioning within the next 60 days.
- Client will process at least 3 grief-related experiences during therapy over the next 90 days.
- Patient will report increased ability to discuss the loss without significant emotional avoidance over the next 90 days.
Improve Emotional Regulation and Coping
- Client will identify at least 3 grief-related emotional triggers within the next 30 days.
- Patient will learn and practice at least 3 coping strategies for managing grief-related distress over the next 90 days.
- Client will use an identified coping strategy during periods of increased distress at least 3 times per week over the next 90 days.
- Patient will demonstrate a 2-point reduction in average SUDS ratings during identified grief-related distress over the next 90 days.
Rebuild Meaning, Identity, and Daily Life
- Client will identify at least 3 meaningful activities, roles, or values affected by the loss within the next 30 days.
- Patient will engage in at least 2 meaningful activities per week over the next 90 days.
- Client will establish at least 2 consistent routines that support daily functioning within the next 90 days.
- Patient will identify at least 2 future-oriented goals that support continued adjustment within the next 90 days.
Strengthen Relationships and Support
- Client will identify at least 2 supportive individuals or resources within the next 30 days.
- Patient will communicate at least 2 grief-related needs to an identified support person within the next 90 days.
- Client will practice at least 2 healthy communication or boundary-setting skills over the next 90 days.
- Patient will increase engagement with identified sources of social support at least 2 times per month over the next 90 days.
Adapt to the Loss and Support Ongoing Recovery
- Client will identify at least 3 changes resulting from the loss and develop adaptive responses to each within the next 90 days.
- Patient will identify at least 3 ways to maintain meaningful connection to what or who was lost within the next 90 days.
- Client will engage in at least 2 values-consistent activities per week over the next 90 days.
- Patient will report increased ability to move toward future-oriented goals while acknowledging the ongoing significance of the loss over the next 90 days.
