Increase Emotional Safety and Trauma Symptom Understanding
- Client will identify at least 3 trauma related triggers and describe their associated emotional, cognitive, or behavioral responses within 90 days.
- Client will demonstrate increased understanding of their trauma responses by identifying at least 2 patterns connecting past experiences to current reactions within 90 days.
- Client will identify at least 3 common trauma-related symptoms they experience and describe how they affect daily functioning within 90 days.
- Client will demonstrate a reduction in PCL-5 scores from baseline to reassessment, indicating decreased severity of trauma-related symptoms.
Improve Emotional Regulation and Coping Skills
- Client will identify and practice at least 3 adaptive coping strategies for managing trauma-related distress within 90 days.
- Client will demonstrate use of at least 2 coping strategies during periods of emotional activation in 4 out of 5 reported opportunities.
- Client will identify early signs of emotional or physiological activation and implement a regulation strategy in at least 3 situations per week.
- Client will demonstrate a reduction in trauma-related symptom severity as evidenced by a decrease in PCL-5 scores from baseline to reassessment.
Increase Sense of Safety and Trust
- Client will identify at least 3 characteristics of safe and healthy relationships and apply them when evaluating interpersonal situations within 90 days.
- Client will identify and communicate at least 2 personal boundaries in appropriate interpersonal situations over a 90-day period.
- Client will identify at least 3 behaviors that contribute to building or maintaining healthy trust within relationships.
- Client will report an increase in perceived emotional safety from baseline by at least 2 points on a 0–10 self-rating scale within 90 days.
Reduce Avoidance and Increase Healthy Engagement
- Client will identify at least 3 avoidance patterns related to trauma reminders and describe how each affects daily functioning within 90 days.
- Client will gradually engage in at least 2 previously avoided or distressing activities per week using appropriate coping strategies.
- Client will increase participation in at least 2 meaningful activities or relationships that have been limited by trauma-related avoidance within 90 days.
- Client will demonstrate a reduction in trauma-related symptoms associated with avoidance, as evidenced by decreased PCL-5 scores from baseline to reassessment.
Develop a More Balanced Self-Perception
- Client will identify at least 3 trauma-related negative beliefs about themselves and develop more balanced alternative beliefs within 90 days.
- Client will identify at least 3 personal strengths, accomplishments, or resilient qualities and incorporate them into a more balanced self-perception.
- Client will identify and challenge at least 3 instances of trauma-related self-blame, shame, or guilt using cognitive restructuring strategies within 90 days.
- Client will demonstrate increased self-compassion by identifying at least 2 compassionate or nonjudgmental responses to situations involving self-criticism each week.
