Purpose π―π
Help clients identify natural energy patterns and work with them rather than against them.
Letβs Talk About It π£οΈ
Draw a battery and ask:
- When does your battery feel full?
- When do you usually crash?
- When are you most productive?
- When does focusing become difficult?
Discuss how daily responsibilities might better match these energy patterns.
If the Conversation Gets Stuck π‘
- Think about yesterday.
- When did you feel most alert?
- When did everything start feeling harder?
Telehealth / Whiteboard Version π
Draw a battery divided into four sections (morning, afternoon, evening, night). Invite the client to place different activities where they typically have enough energy to complete them.
Why This Works π±
Rather than expecting constant productivity, clients learn to schedule demanding tasks during periods of higher energy.
Clinical Pearl π§
Energy is not laziness. Helping clients understand this distinction often reduces self-criticism.
Documentation Language π
